The Durham Carifest team is proud to share Durham Carifest with you.
Durham Carifest was started to celebrate the vibrant culture of the Caribbean in Durham. Moreover, we wanted to share with people the culture of the Caribbean and establish it as a place where three generations of families could come together and experience the Caribbean. We got the opportunity to create this annual festival after an event that previously occupied the space in Durham could no longer operate.
We comprise of a diverse team of members with over fifteen years of experience in event management, project planning, security, and a great love for the Caribbean culture.
We believe Durham Carifest is not just an event, it is a Caribbean Experience. As a team, we not only love to soak in the culture and witness attendees experience a piece of the Caribbean for the first time, but we also enjoy seeing the Caribbean diaspora relive memories.
Our most satisfying moment is when our vision is played out on that day, our attendees enjoy themselves and our vendors are successful. It is also extremely fulfilling to know that our event has grown into an event for everyone and where families can come together and have a great time experiencing the vibrance of the Caribbean.
While we operate our event upholding the core value of integrity, it is our love for the Caribbean culture that has earned us immeasurable success.
Our hope for the future is that we get to see the real culture and vibrancy of the Caribbean being passed down to the next generation.
